Many conflicts arise in marriage as the result of false expectations. Sometimes these expectations are unstated and unconscious, arising from family history or what feels ‘normal.’ Sometimes the problem is obvious and easy to overcome. However, should we turn aside all expectations in marriage? Scripture states that husbands and wives do have roles and responsibilities to live up to, so it is clear that not all expectations are bad. What is the source of our expectations?
